|Pattonville senior named Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete|

Pattonville High School senior Kendall Battle was chosen to represent Pattonville as a St. Louis Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete. In its 53st year, the Scholar Athlete program honors a student from every high school in the area who participates in athletics and excels in the classroom.
Battle was selected for the recognition by nomination and vote of Pattonville's coaches. She will be honored with her biography published in the May 9 edition of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and online at STLToday.com. She will also be recognized during a St. Louis Cardinals game.
Battle is a four-sport athlete who is excels academically and athletically. She played basketball, field hockey, soccer and track and field.
Battle was a starter on the girls varsity soccer team and was named First Team All-Region and First Team All-Academic during her last three seasons. She earned Second Team All-Conference in 2016; Pattonville Team MVP in 2017 and 2018; First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-State in 2017; and Suburban XII South Conference Player of the Year, All-State Offensive Player of the Year and Third-Team All-Metro in 2018.
Battle was captain of the field hockey team and a varsity starter in 2016 and 2017. She earned First Team All-Conference and First-Team All-Academic in 2016 and 2017.
She also played varsity basketball in 2017 and earned All-Conference Honorable Mention in this sport.
Battle was part of the girls track team that placed second overall at the state championship in 2018. She earned All-State honors and was part of the 4x400 relay team that placed second at state, setting a new school record that year. She also qualified for state in javelin. In addition, she was named First Team All-Conference in 2017.
Battle was also active in the DECA marketing education organization at Pattonville. In the category of sports and entertainment marketing, she was a district champion, placed second at state and qualified for nationals.
