Dr. Mark Houston, Building Principal

Dr. Houston was named principal of The Heights in 2022. Prior to being named building principal, he served as The Heights assistant principal since 2005. Before coming to The Heights, he served as Assistant Principal at Riverview Gardens High School and taught social studies for nine years. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education- History, from the University of Missouri- St. Louis. Dr. Houston also holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from St. Louis University and recently completed his doctoral degree from Maryville University. Dr. Houston is married with four children and spends much time with family and coaching each one of his kids in soccer, hockey, and baseball.

Dr. Matthew Buschman, Assistant Principal

Dr. Buschman was named the Assistant Principal of The Heights in 2022. Previously, he served as a seventh-grade math teacher and extracurricular activities coordinator at Crestview Middle School in the Rockwood School District. He has also worked as a math teacher at Meramec Valley Middle School and an American History teacher at Pacific High School. Dr. Buschman earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Missouri, a master’s degree in educational administration from Southeast Missouri State University, and a specialist’s degree and a doctorate degree in educational administration from Lindenwood University.

Mrs. Danielle Beyer, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Beyer was named the Assistant Principal of The Heights in 2023. Previously, she served as a sixth and seventh grade Social Studies and ELA teacher at Pattonville Heights. She has also worked as an eighth grade History teacher at Hazelwood Southeast Middle. Mrs. Beyer earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Missouri State University and master’s degree in educational administration from William Wood’s University.
